    Globacom finally arrived in Ghana.

I recently had a message from my Ghanian friend stating that i should call him on his new mobile number. He had a business proposition for me so he would want us to discuss it in details.
Having spent up to 18 months living in Ghana myself, i know how cheap call rates are in over there as compared to the expensive and cut throat rates they charge us here in Nigeria not to mention international calls. So i had no choice but to send him back my number so he would call me instead explaing that it would be far cheaper if he did the calling because the rates are cheaper over there.
So he called me briefly the following day and promised to call back in the evening when he was more settled ans we would discuss the business proposition in details then.
He never called back until the next day in the morning and so we had our discussion which lasted well over 15 minutes and it never went without him mentioning that the number is the new Glo network which was recently launched in Ghana.
I will not deny that the call wasn`t without a hitch, there was even a point when the call got dropped after a female voice told me to call back. I initially thought my new business partner had a female companion who needed his atention. Then he called again and i asked about it and he just laughed it off saying it must have been a network problem.
I couldn`t help but notice the air of pride with which my friend spoke and two million other Glo subscribers in Ghana must be feeling the same way since Glo mobile launched, taking about 8 percent of the market share.
The anticipation has been intense over the years and Ghanains have long been waiting for the network to launch. MTN had dominated the mobile communications market until now and Globalcom faced no little challenges in their bid to start operations due to artficial red tapes and delays in getting the operational licence.
Now Globacom has finally arrived in Ghana.
